MARYSVILLE -- Police were called Wednesday after four people reportedly were firing a shotgun in a no-shoot zone near Marysville.

Reports of gunshots started around 6:30 p.m.

Marysville police initially responded, but the shooting location was determined to be outside city limits, in a wooded area near the 7000 block of 96th Street NE, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.

Early information indicated that two men and two women had been target shooting with a shotgun and fired up to 25 shells. No arrests had been made as of mid-Wednesday evening.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office was investigating.
