EVERETT -- A man found slain in Everett this week had a warrant for his arrest.

Luis Verduzco, 23, had a few brushes with the law, but little else is known about him.

Police are hoping to speak with anyone who recognizes Verduzco or might have seen him in the days leading up to his death.

The south Everett man was found fatally stabbed Tuesday night outside a vacant house at 22 Madison Street. Detectives believe he might have been killed elsewhere.

The Everett police Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Lt. Robert Goetz on Friday declined to discuss any evidence recovered so far.

Detectives talked to neighbors, but no witnesses have come forward, Goetz said.

Verduzco had a felony juvenile conviction for robbery out of California, court papers show.

He also had an arrest warrant in connection with a 2010 incident in Everett, when he reportedly bit an Everett police officer and tried to bite another.

The officers were responding to a call that Verduzco was slumped over in a car, blocking someone's driveway.

Verduzco didn't respond to the officers' commands and fought them when they tried to pull him from the car, court papers said. The officer who was bitten had to go to the hospital for treatment.

Verduzco was charged in September 2011 with third-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance. The court case was unresolved at the time of his death.

Investigators don't believe the vacant house along Madison Street was connected to the killing, Goetz said Friday.

Detectives don't know much else about the victim at this point, Goetz said.

"That's one of the reasons we're wanting any acquaintances or anyone who may have known him to come forward," he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 425-257-8450.
