LYNNWOOD -- An Everett man, 33, was arrested Thursday after leading police on a chase through south Snohomish County.

A Lynnwood police officer attempted to pull over a Chevrolet pickup when the driver sped away, police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said. The pursuit started around 1:30 p.m.

The chase went into Mountlake Terrace, where the man drove down a ravine and into Terrace Creek Park along 48th Avenue W. The man then got out of the car and ran.

A police dog search soon led officers to him in a nearby swamp, Sessions said.

The man was booked for investigation of attempting to elude police and unlawful possession of a firearm. He also had a felony arrest warrant out of California.
