GRAND ISLAND, Neb — Everett Raptors quarterback Shane Austin threw seven touchdown passes but was picked off twice in the fourth quarter as the Nebraska Danger held off the Raptors’ comeback effort for a 68-59 Indoor Football League victory Friday.
Raptors wide receiver Andre Piper-Jordan once again had a standout performance, with six receptions for 98 yards and four touchdowns.
The Everett defense could not slow down the Nebraska rushing attack. Daniel Libre ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Rocky Hinds added 52 yards and three scores.
After trailing by as many as 21 points, the Raptors pulled to within six early in the fourth quarter after De’Maundray Woolridge scored on a 19-yard run. But two Austin interceptions flanked a Fever field goal to leave the Raptors at 2-8 on the season.
