Former Everett list forward Miles Koules tweeted today that he’s decided to play for Medicine Hat next season. Koules, who played for the U.S. NTDP the past two seasons, was traded by Everett to Medicine Hat at this year’s trade deadline in the deal that brought Reid Petryk to the Tips. There was also a conditional fourth-round bantam pick involved in the deal, and the way it was explained to me at the time was that pick would go either way depending on whether Koules ever reported to the Tigers. So this means a fourth rounder should be coming Everett’s way. It was never revealed what year that pick would be transferred.
We’re still waiting on what Seth Jones is going to decide. Jones tweeted the’s visiting Portland this weekend, so I suspect we’ll have an answer on his plans — and whether Everett will be getting anything more from the Winterhawks from this situation — soon.
