Don't throw momma from the train. Put momma on the train.

The Lake Whatcom Railway is offering scenic train rides that are a bargain for families looking for a way to spend the day before Mother's Day riding the rails.

The Mother's Day Train Ride takes place at noon May 12.

This scenic ride involves a stop at a waterfall and a small park. Riders get to experience the trip in an antique rail car with an hour-and-a-half trip that leaves from Sedro-Woolley in Skagit County.

Moms ride half-price but must be accompanied by a full-fare ticket holder. Fare is $20 for adults and $10 for children, Kids 2 and under ride free.

Advance ticket purchase is recommended by reserving tickets through the Bellingham Railway Museum at 360-393-7540 or you can send an email to brm@integra.net.

You will receive tickets by mail.

For directions to the Lake Whatcom Railway or more information go to www.lakewhatcom railway.com.
