TULALIP -- One woman was killed and another injured after a one-car wreck Friday night in the Tulalip area.

The women were in a four-door Chrysler when the driver, 20, missed a turn, left the roadway and struck a tree, Snohomish County sheriff's bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said.

The driver, of Marysville, died at the scene. Her name wasn't available Monday.

The passenger, 19, also of Marysville, was taken to a local hospital. Her injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.

The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Turk Road, just north of Tulalip Bay.

Snohomish County sheriff's detectives are investigating and believe the car may have been involved in a hit-and-run reported nearby earlier that night.
