Ex-Granite Falls police chief put on paid leave

GRANITE FALLS -- The former police chief of Granite Falls is on paid administrative leave at his new job.
Investigators in Snohomish County have alleged that Tony Domish, who was Granite Falls police chief from 2006 to 2010, mishandled thousands of dollars of money that was seized or forfeited during his tenure there.
Domish denies any wrongdoing. He has not been charged with a crime.
Since leaving Granite Falls, Domish took a post as chief at the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department in Klickitat County.
He was placed on leave there Wednesday evening, White Salmon City Administrator Pat Munyan said Thursday. The leave is pending the outcome of the Snohomish County probe and a separate White Salmon internal investigation, scheduled to begin next week.
Munyan said he couldn't discuss the nature of the investigation there but said it involved "administrative overview."
Domish is paid between $70,000 and $75,000 a year at White Salmon. He oversees a five-officer department.
