Vampire movie to shoot at Everett restaurant
Still, just weeks after a independent film company announced plans to shoot in Snohomish, another film company laid out plans to film a vampire movie this summer in Snohomish, Everett and other parts of Western Washington.
V.S. Films, owned by Mill Creek-native Jessica Soss, wants to make a horror-comedy movie called "Vampire Soul: Hidden in Plain Sight."
The plot involves a couple who happen to be vampires who own a restaurant and want to get children to raise as their own.
"The movie is campy and humorous. It gives a twist to the vampire genre," Soss said. "I am filming here in Washington to bring more jobs to people."
More than a hundred people are expected be hired as extras and crew, she said. State Rep. Mike Hope, R-Lake Stevens, has been cast as a police officer.
People can find out more by going to the film's website at www.vampiresoulfilm.com, or go to its Facebook page.
Soss produces, writes and acts in the movie. Wrestlers Joe Legend, Roddy Piper and Taylor Armstrong, a reality star from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" are also slated to appear in the movie, Soss said.
The filming is expected to center at the Alligator Soul, a closed restaurant in Everett. It will last three weeks in Everett and will shoot for a couple of days in Snohomish.
Soss plans to talk with Everett and Snohomish officials in a couple of weeks when she has selected locations to use for the film,
"Vampire Soul" is expected to be shown in film festivals with the intention to be screened in the country and overseas.
This would be the second film using Snohomish and other parts of the county as a backdrop for their films.
This week, the New York-based Parts and Labor production company is expected to shoot in several Snohomish locations for "You Can't Win," a movie based on memoirs by Jack Black, written in the 1920s. The autobiography tells about how Black spent 30 years riding the railroads and traveling through the western United States and Canada.
