Byron Scherf

Don't give inmate, lawyers attention

I was so disappointed to see the article about Byron Scherf on the front page of the Monday Herald. This man's single act has hurt thousands of people. First, of course, the families. Then, the co-workers and staff at the Monroe Correctional Complex. Finally, the volunteers who could not devote their skills during the lock-down, and, the roughly 2,500 inmates and their visiting families that had to endure the lock-down for those months.

Scherf and his attorneys do not deserve such accord. They feed on anything that will draw attention to him. This seems to rub the whole incident in the faces of all involved, once again.

If you must report things about Scherf, put them on the back page or in the comic section.
