SEATTLE -- UCLA's Adam Plutko out-dueled Washington ace Aaron West as the 11th-ranked Bruins shut out the Husky baseball team 2-0 Friday night at Safeco Field.

The Bruins improved to 33-13 overall and 13-9 in the Pac-12. Washington fell to 26-19 and 11-11.

Plutko (7-3) went seven innings for the win, holding the Huskies scoreless on five hits and three walks. He struck out four. David Berg pitched the eighth and Scott Griggs worked the ninth, picking up his 12th save.

West, a graduate of Snohomish High School, gave up two runs on five hits over his eight innings of work. He struck out two and walked only one. His record fell to 6-5.

UCLA scored in the top of the third inning, breaking a streak of 20 consecutive scoreless innings for West. Cody Regis walked and Kevin Williams was hit by a pitch to put two on for Tyler Heineman, who's two-out single up the middle drove in both runners.

The Huskies and Bruins resume their series at 2 p.m. today at Husky Ballpark.
