SNOHOMISH -- A 29-year-old* man was killed Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle along a winding rural road east of Snohomish.
The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 12500 block of Old Snohomish-Monroe Road.
The man reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and struck a concrete barrier, Snohomish County sheriff's Lt. Steve Dittoe said Sunday. Firefighters attempted to revive the man, but he died at the scene.
Witnesses told authorities that they saw the motorcycle speeding before the crash, Dittoe said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's collision investigation unit.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office on Sunday had not released the man's name or hometown.
Correction, May 14, 2012: The victim's age was incorrect in an earlier version of this story.
