Seahawks add four, including former 1st-round pick Alex Barron

The Seahawks apparently came away impressed with a few of the tryout players who took part in last weekend's minicamp, because the team announced today that it has agreed to terms with four of them--T Alex Barron, TE Cooper Helfet, CB Donny Lisowski and T Andrew Mitchell.

The most intriguing name of those four is Barron, who was a former first round pick (19th overall, St. Louis). He was a starter for five years for the Rams, primarily at right tackle, then spent 2010 with Dallas. He signed with New Orleans last season but spent the year on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Barron's career has so far not lived up to his draft status, but the Seahawks liked what they saw last weekend, and certainly aren't breaking to bank to take a longer look at him.

Another interesting name on that list is Lisowski, who is from Seattle and played at O'Dea High School. Lisowski, who played at Montana, was around the ball frequently and had several interceptions over the weekend, and was singled out by Pete Carroll as a tryout player who made a good impression.

To make room on the roster, Seattle released cornerback London Durham, linebacker Adrian Moten, tackle Jon Opperud and guard/center Brent Osborne, the team announced today.
