Help: School car wash fundraiser
The Stanwood High School Class of 2013 is planning a car wash as a fundraiser between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 16 at Haggens, 26603 72nd Ave. NW, Stanwood. Students are selling tickets beforehand for $5 and at the time of the event. Donations are being accepted in the name of “Class of 2013.”

Help: Volunteer at Historic Theatre
The Historic Everett Theater is looking for volunteer ushers, concession workers and bartenders during its busy season. People can attend an informational meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. The staff will be on hand to give a tour.

Help: Disability group volunteers
People are needed to help between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. June 8 at Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. People can help for a shift of two hours or more depending of their schedules.
Village Community Services is organizing a silent auction to raise funds. Village Community Services helps adults with disabilities to find and keep employment, and to live independently.

Donate: Scrap metal for schools
The NW Auto Recyclers has started a year-round recycle program accepting scrap metal to help the Lake Stevens and Granite Falls school districts.
People can donate metal at the Auto Recyclers between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekends at the site located at 2317 N Machias Road, Lake Stevens.
There will be two bins, one for each district.
Among the things being accepted are cars, steel, brass and aluminum.

Volunteer: Monte Cristo stewards
People are needed this summer to provide visitor information at the town site and cabin area or along the trails. The stewards use one of the Forest Service cabins during day-long or multiple-day trips and help maintain the cabins, camp areas, and trails.
People interested need to attend training at 8:30 a.m. June 2 at the Verlot Public Service Center, 33515 Mountain Loop Hwy, Granite Falls.

Compete: Support Deception Pass Park
People are invited to compete on a 800-meter swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 4-mile run during the first Deception Pass Challenge.
The Deception Pass Park Foundation is sponsoring the event to encourage park exploration, promote Deception Pass and raise money for education and protection of the park.
The challenge is to start at 8 a.m. June 16, 41020 SR 20, Oak Harbor. Cost to enter is $50 for individuals and $100 for a team. More info: www.deception passfoundation.org.
