Bike to Work Day is Friday

May is National Bike to Work Month and booths will be set up at public transportation centers and park-and-ride lots around the county on Friday to mark the occasion.

Cascade Bike Club is the lead sponsor of Bike Month festivities throughout Snohomish County this year, with many other local businesses pitching in.

Staff will welcome cyclists from 5 to 9 a.m. at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave. with complimentary refreshments, a free T-shirt (one per rider, first come-first served) and a bicycle safety check. Cyclists can also pick up the current Snohomish County Bicycling and Trail Map, along with maps and information for cycling in other Pacific Northwest cities and regions.

Booths also are scheduled to be set up near the Edmonds Amtrak Station, the Everett Boeing plant, the Lynnwood Transit Center, the McCollum Park and Ride lot and UW-Bothell.
