Weekend fun: Hit the ‘Street,’ head to the water

Celebrate the Sox: The Sox’s FanFest is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium, 3900 Broadway. You can meet the AquaSox staff and mascot. The batting practice and field areas will be open to the public. There will also be a kids’ artwork contest and appearance by team personalities Webbly and Frank. More info here.

Enjoy wine and food: You can taste local wines and food at the Historic Monroe Wine Walk on Saturday. The eventwill include sips from Piccola Winery, Michael Florentino Cellars, Gecko Wine Company, Open Road Wine Company, Convergence Zone Cellars, Page Cellars and Dubindil Winery. See the eclipse: Weather permitting, you may be able to see an partial eclipse on Sunday beginning about 5 p.m. Click here for more details and a nifty little animation of what you can expect to see.

Rev it up: The Sky Valley 16th annual Antique and Classic Motorcycle Show is returning to Snohomish on Sunday after a four-year absence. The free all-ages event begins at 8 a.m. and is set to have at least 300 people displaying their motorcycles, live music and almost 50 vendors. ‘Street’ cred: The gang’s all here as “Sesame Street” arrives in Everett to save Jenny, the new music teacher, after the moving truck with all of her instruments doesn’t arrive. The characters teach her a lesson as they concoct a concert of good times through creativity. Music is made from all sorts of things and in all sorts of ways: from feet and hands, to trash can lids and cookie jars. You know you DO give one: “Gone with the Wind” tells the story of what happened to the wealthy plantation owners and their slaves as the Civil War ravaged the nation. With Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara and Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. The nine-time Oscar winner screens Friday through Sunday at 7 p.m. at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett; 425-258-6766. Tickets are $10 general, $8 military, seniors and students.

Head to the water: Canoe races have always been the centerpiece of the Penn Cove Water Festival and Saturday’s event is no exception. American Indian traditions and culture are a highlight of the festivities, along with a diverse selection of musical styles including songs of the sea. New this year will be vendors offering salmon tacos served in fry bread. The festival runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Coupeville. Learn what else awaits in our story here.

Go for a stroll: The Everett Outdoor Art Walk returns Saturday and continues the third Saturday of each month through September from 4 to 7 p.m. Find a map here.

Paine Field Aviation Day: Head to Paine Field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; there’s also a 5K at 8 a.m. for runners, 8:10 a.m. for walkers, at Future of Flight, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo; helicopter and biplane rides available for additional cost; free parking and shuttle service; $5 admission for adults, $10 for family; www.painefield.com.

Off the chain (saw) For the second year in a row, the people who run the Oso Mill are hosting an open house complete with mill demonstrations and chain saw carving competitions. The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, when an auction is scheduled for all the chain saw sculpture creations. Food will be available for purchase. Visit Camano, enjoy art, redux: The Camano Island Studio Tour, offers an encore Saturday and Sunday. Funky family time: Pike Place fixture Squirrel Butter brings its funky tunes to the Everett Library for a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday. The duo combines old-time tunes, country blues and hokum songs with an Appalachian influence and a jug band flavor. Read our story here.

Celebrate food: Join others who are passionate about wholesome, local food at the free Celebration of Food Festival, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Try free samples, and learn all about food, from growing it to cooking it to preserving it.
