MARYSVILLE -- A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured Saturday in an accident on I-5 near Marysville.

A pack of several motorcycles was traveling northbound late Saturday morning when traffic in the right lane began to slow. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 39-year-old man was clipped by another motorcycle and crashed, said Trooper Brandon Lee with the Washington State Patrol.

The driver and his 37-year-old female passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The male driver of the second motorcycle was not injured.

The freeway lane was closed for about 40 minutes while an investigation occurred. Traffic in the lane where the accident happened was redirected along the shoulder of the road, Lee said.
