Boeing has delivered UPS' 50th 767-300 freighter.

The Boeing Co. delivered UPS' 50th 767-300 freighter, the companies said Tuesday.

UPS operates more 767 freighters than any other carrier. The Kentucky-based cargo company has nine more 767 freighters on order.

"The Boeing 767 freighter is the workhorse of our fleet," Mitch Nichols, president of UPS airlines, said in a statement. "This versatile widebody is an important element in UPS's global logistics network, helping us reach over 200 countries and territories each day."

Boeing's Everett-built 767 also is the basis for therefueling tanker the company is supplying to the U.S. Air Force. Boeing noted Tuesday that the 767 freighter has a high level of reliability in service, departing within 15 minutes of scheduled time over 99 percent of the time.
