What's up, Doc? Biologists in Eastern Washington were happily surprised to find that endangered Columbia Basin pygmy rabbits kept in special enclosures have been breeding like the rabbits they are. Eighty baby pygmy rabbits were captured, marked and released.
The breeding program has been so successful, the state will now have to assess the potential harmful effects of that much cuteness concentrated in Eastern Washington.
Go, cougs! No, really, go: A young female cougar seen prowling too close to Arlington neighborhoods was caught and released into the wilds northeast of town. We've included a list of advice on what to do if you encounter a cougar (above).
