The flight took seven hours and 48 minutes and landed at IAD at 9:12 a.m. Pacific time. The plane was scheduled to depart for Frankfurt as Flight 419 at 2:55 p.m. Pacific time.
Besides touting the plane itself, Lufthansa is aggressively marketing new business class seating and services.
Boeing has seen only 36 orders for 747-8s for non-cargo use, and the cargo version isn't selling very well, either. Having Intercontinentals in service isn't necessarily going to help sell the plane, but it sure can't hurt, especially if actual passenger buzz follows the marketing.
