SEATTLE — Organizers said about 8,500 people raised about $1.1 million at this year’s Komen Race for the Cure in Seattle. That’s a significant drop from last year’s 14,000 race participants.
KING-TV reported the race also provided more than 900 breast cancer survivors with an opportunity to come together to support each other and celebrate life.
Co-chair Char Davis, a breast cancer survivor, said the race faced some obstacles this year, but nothing as difficult as surviving cancer.
