Keeps the water off the family jewels: Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee on Sunday aboard a barge among a flotilla of vessels on London's famed River Thames.

The queen, in a silver and white dress and coat, was still dressed for safety; in the unlikely event of a sinking, the queen's royal hat would have served as a flotation device.

"There's no crying in baseball!" Our parenting column today addresses how to help boys express their feelings in appropriate ways, using as its example a story about a 13-year-old who struck out during a Little League game, only to be admonished by his mother when he started to cry.

It's advice that helped little Chone Figgins when he was growing up and continues to serve him every time he strikes out during a Seattle Mariner game.

Bieber belabored: Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber will has his first prime-time network TV special on NBC later this month. The special will feature the "Justin-Cam," which will record life through the eyes of Bieber.

But if you can't wait for the special, you can make your own "Justin-Cam" at home and see what Bieber sees by taking a video camera and taping some hair in front of the camera lens, then getting a tween girl to scream into the camera.
