The Everett Astronomical Society is scheduled, weather permitting, to host public viewing of the Transit of Venus across the face of the sun, 3-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the ‘west bluff’ parking lot portion of Legion Park, 145 Alverson Blvd.
Venus will appear as a small dot moving across the sun. It will not occur again for 105 years.
Members of the EAS will have specially filtered telescopes and special solar viewing ‘hydrogen-alpha’ telescopes available to see this phenomenon.
