Shorecrest closes 'Scotland Yard'

After 51 years the Shorecrest High School gym -- otherwise known as "Scotland Yard" -- is closing and the Scots basketball teams are planning on sending it out in style. The boys and girls basketball teams, which will play in a new facility next year, are hosting a “Close the Gym” event on Saturday, which includes an alumni vs. varsity games. The girls play at 5 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m.

Interested alumni can contact Scots girls basketball coach Dori Monson at

A suggested $5 donation will be collected at the door, with all proceeds benefiting the Shorecrest basketball teams.
