Man detained on bridge near Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS -- A man was taken into police custody Monday evening after reportedly intending to jump off a bridge near Granite Falls.
The incident happened about 6:15 p.m. on the Granite Falls bridge on the Mountain Loop Highway north of town, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The man, 48, was taken to a hospital Monday night for evaluation.
Additional details were not immediately available.
