Take a last walk on old Ebey Slough Bridge

MARYSVILLE -- The public will have a chance to take one last trip across the 85-year-old Ebey Slough Bridge on Thursday-- on foot.
Anyone who wishes to say goodbye to the bridge is invited to Ebey Waterfront Park, 1404 First St. in Marysville, at 10 a.m. for a guided walk across the bridge, built in 1927.
Officials and other invitees are scheduled to be on hand.
The old bridge on Highway 529 was closed to traffic in April following the opening of a new $39 million bridge parallel to the old span.
The old bridge, a span that swung open for boat traffic on the slough, is scheduled to be dismantled beginning on Monday.
