Twin City Elementary School offers a taco feed from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the school, 26211 72nd Ave. NW, Stanwood. Adults, $6; kids under 12, $4. Food donated by Amigo Restaurant. Proceeds benefit the school PTA. For more information, call Jeff Wiley, 425-785-6241.

Whale expert to speak: Howard Garrett, director of the Orca Network, is scheduled to speak at a meeting of the Mukilteo Historical Society on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. in the Fowler Room at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.
Garrett plans to present a program titled "Gray Whales in Saratoga Passage." The Orca Network is a Whidbey Island-based organization that studies whales.
Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served.

Free whooping cough shots: Uninsured and low-income adults can get the whooping cough shot for free during a special vaccination clinic from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in Edmonds. The shots will be offered at Swedish/Edmonds, 21601 76th Ave. W. Five hundred doses will be available.
The shots are being offered for walk-up patients. No appointments are needed. The immunizations are being provided by the state Department of Health in response to the Washington's ongoing whooping cough epidemic. More than 2,000 cases have been reported statewide.
