Arlington: Strawberry event
The nonprofit Red Rooster Route group offers its Strawberry Festival on Saturday and Sunday at Biringer Farm, 21412 59th Ave. NE. The event is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission. Fees are charged for food and some activities.
The Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday as part of the festival. The museum is at 20722 67th Ave. NE

Snohomish County's Last Leaf Productions plans to stage "Macbeth" at 6 p.m. Saturday, in Terrace Park, 809 E. Fifth St.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. The production is free.
Mukilteo: Street rules mulled
The Mukilteo Planning Commission plans a hearing on changes on how private roads are regulated at 7 p.m. Thursday, City Hall Council Chambers, 11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo.
Most significantly, the proposal calls for eliminating private streets from the public street network. Currently, up to four single family residences can access public streets from a private road. There are exceptions.
A road is part of the public street network if it has more than one intersection with a public street.

Snohomish: New thrift shop opens
The retail store Fabulously Frugal Thrift Shop, which aims to raise funds for the Snohomish Senior Center, is celebrating its opening with punch and cake at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The shop be open from Tuesday to Sunday at 611 Second St.
All proceeds from the shop will benefit the Snohomish Senior Center, located at 506 Fourth St.

Terrace: New police commander
Longtime Mountlake Terrace police Officer Don Duncan recently was promoted to police commander.
Duncan took the oath of office for his new position at the June 4 City Council meeting. He has worked for the department since 1996, including serving as a detective, patrol sergeant and detective sergeant.
