Silver Lake camp-out
Experience family camping the easy way at Silver Lake June 23-24. Pitch a tent, build a shelter and learn to camp comfortably, discover Dutch oven cooking, learn to build a campfire, enjoy a campfire program and smores, and fuel up with a free Sunday breakfast.
Bring a cooler with something to grill for dinner and your own camping gear. Families who need to may borrow from a limited supply of tents and sleeping bags. Cost is $15 per five-person family, or $5 per individual. Register with Everett Parks and Recreation by calling 425-257-8300, ext. 2.

Take a boating class: The Everett Sail & Power Squadron is registering people for an eight-week class about basic knowledge and skill needed to operate a boat.
America's Boating Course is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on July 16 at the Everett Yacht Club, Orca Room at 404 14th St., Everett. The course is set to include an introduction to various types of boats, boating law as with registration, state and federal regulations, required safety equipment, and many other subjects.
Those who complete the course qualify for the Washington State Boater Education card required before operating watercraft in the state.
