Hip-hop artists added sound to Sonics rally

Sonics fans rally for a new stadium Thursday in Seattle.

Last Thursday there was a rally in Seattle to support the construction of a multipurpose sports arena that many expect to serve as the home for the new Seattle SuperSonics if the city is indeed able to secure an NBA team. The rally was a huge success thanks to the help of many past Sonics like Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, Slick Watts and Detlef Schrempf .

Members of the Seattle hip hop community were also a big reason for the success of the event. Seattle rappers Macklemore and Grynch joined Blue Scholars on stage for a performance of "North by Northwest" that you can see below.

After seeing this video and being really disappointed that I was unable attend the rally I am left thinking we should have a party like this up in Everett. Are there any SuperSonics fans in Snohomish County that support this idea?
