1002 Hughes Lane, Granite Falls

This week’s featured new construction is a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath two-story on a large corner lot in the Pilchuck Pines development near downtown Granite Falls. It has 3,189 square-feet of living space and includes a three-car garage, expansive bonus room and oversized den.

The home’s foyer is decked with Brazilian cherry flooring with maple inlays that extends into the hall, powder room, kitchen and informal dining nook. Vertical, transom and clerestory windows brighten the area.

A formal dining room is straight ahead. Its features include a double coffered ceiling, double crown molding, chair railing and shadowboxing.

A paned glass French door opens to an extra-large home office with a nine-feet coffered ceiling, radius corners and plush carpeting.

Kitchen highlights include granite tile countertops and backsplashes, alder-paneled cabinets with cherry stain and crown molding, a breakfast bar with drop-down lighting, a pantry closet and stainless steel appliances. A sliding glass door opens from the nook to a spacious exposed aggregate patio and the fenced and landscaped back yard.

The living room has a gas fireplace trimmed with a granite tile hearth and border. The fireplace includes

a formal wood surround and mantel, with alcoves and wall sconces positioned on each side.

A powder room with pedestal sink and the off-set three-car garage complete the main floor.

An L-shaped staircase ascends to the upper level, with three vertical privacy windows and two wall sconces along the way.

The bonus room and a spacious bedroom suite highlight the upper floor, which is completed with three additional bedrooms, a full bathroom and a laundry room. A French door opens to the bonus room, which has a high vaulted ceiling.

Features of the bedroom suite include a paned glass French door, a large picture window, five-piece bathroom, and a walk-in wardrobe closet with ventilated wire storage shelves on three walls. The bathroom has tile flooring, a double vanity topped with ceramic tile, a soaker tub encased in a tile surround, and a freestanding shower with tile surround and glass enclosure.

The remaining bedrooms are above-average in size and include paneled sliders enclosing standard closets. The full bathroom is finished with a double vanity and shower/tub combo with faux white tile fiberglass shell.
