EDMONDS -- Two suspected mail thieves were arrested Tuesday in Edmonds after an alert neighbor called police.

The neighbor, who lives along 74th Avenue W, saw a man and woman apparently stealing mail about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. He called 911.

Officers who responded found two people who matched the description of the suspects, according to the arrest report. The man allegedly had burglary and car prowl tools in his pockets, and mail was hanging out of the woman's shoulder bag.

Police believe the pair took mail from at least nine homes, with multiple victims at some addresses.

They were booked into Snohomish County Jail.
