Marvel at reptiles
Come see snakes, iguanas, turtles and lizards at a summer reading kickoff at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.
Scott Peterson, the Reptile Man, plans to bring 10 to 15 animals from his popular show. For more information, call the library at 425-493-8202.

Busy weekend at Monroe lake: Wakeboarders are set to ride at Lake Tye park this weekend when they participate at the Northwest Riders Wake Series. The event is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. each day from Friday through Sunday at the lake located at 14964 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe. The public is invited.

School park to honor teacher: More than 100 volunteers are expected to build a playground from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Madison Elementary School in Everett to honor a long-time teacher who died suddenly last summer.
Valerie Dede taught at Madison for 24 years and worked in the Everett School District for 42 years.
The school received a grant from an organization called Kaboom! in Washington, D.C., to build playground at the school at 616 Pecks Drive.
