ANCHORANGE, Alaska -- Bo Folkinga finished 4-for-5 and Sean Yanuss drove in three runs as the Everett Merchants rebounded from two straight losses to grab a 9-3 win over the Anchorage Bucs.
"I'm amazed by the turnaround from last night," Merchants head coach Harold Pyatte said. "We got up at 6:30 this morning, were on the bus for seven hours (from Fairbanks) and this is the best we played (all year)."
After the Bucs tied the score at 3 with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Merchants responded with five runs in the seventh. Aaron Gates broke the tie with a bases-loaded, two-run single. Folkinga, Alex Potts and Yanuss each added RBI base hits in the inning.
Everett starting pitcher Gunner Swanson threw 62/3 innings, allowed three runs and struck out six to earn the victory.
