EVERETT -- A man was shot and wounded in what Everett police are describing as a home-invasion robbery Sunday morning.

The man had been at a house in the 2500 block of Walnut Street with three other people when two male robbers entered around 7 a.m., Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said. After being shot, the wounded man walked outside to seek help from neighbors. He was released from the hospital later in the day.

The suspects are believed to have left the area in a car, Snell said. A K-9 unit tried to track the suspects, but lost the scent nearby.

As part of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at the house, which is a little more than over a block north of Everett Avenue.

Anybody with information about the case is asked to call the Everett police tip line at 425-257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
