WOW! is not just an acronym.
WOW! stands for Women on Whidbey Island, but it’s also what the creators of this special event expect will be your reaction when it’s over.
This Whidbey Island Center for the Arts event is a day that is packed with presentations from “amazing women of Whidbey on the passions in their lives,” according to press material.
WOW! will include presentations, stories and performances.
The event starts with coffee at 9 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. Saturday at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Ave., Langley. Tickets are $25 and include lunch. Call the WICA box office at 360-221-8268 or 800-638-7631 or go to wicaonline.com.
Participants include Veronica von Allworden, an accomplished jewelry artist, award-winning aerial and underwater photographer, a pilot and a scuba diver; Mary Fisher, a master gardener and owner of Cultus Bay Nursery; pianist Maureen Girard; Amber Kizer, author of young adult novels; electrician Golda Moore; and Herald columnist Sarri Gilman.
WOW! stories moderators will be Rene Neff and Lynn Willeford.
Mixed throughout the day will be performances by Karin Blaine and Siri Bardarson, Deana Duncan, Island Dance, and Nancy Nolan.
There will be surprise activities led by Amanda Murphy and Chizue Rudd, according to press material.
