Vitaminwater brought their “Uncapped” concert series to Seattle on Wednesday night for a secret show with Passion Pit and 2 Chainz. Finding out about one of these shows isn’t all that hard because when the word gets out that a band like Passion Pit is playing a free show the news spreads like wildfire. The tricky part is actually getting in before it fills up.
I learned two things Wednesday night:
The new Passion Pit album ‘Gossamer’ is going to be awesome.
The vitaminwater people know how to throw a party.
The show was at the Emerald City Trapeze Arts location in Seattle. Turns out this is actually a pretty great place for a concert and I hope to see more shows there. You could feel the buzz in the room as soon as you walked in which might have been because of all the free beer, but I think it had more to do with the hip hop styling of 2 Chainz.
Passion Pit’s set included three songs from the new album and they were all fantastic. When they performed their new single “Take A Walk” the crowd erupted and they didn’t stop till the show ended. The song was just released last month but most of the crowd already knew all the words.
‘Gossamer’ is set for a July 24th release and is at the top of my “Must Have” list. Below is a video of Passion Pit performing their new song “I’ll Be Alright” at the show Wednesday night. Big thanks to the good folks at Jet City Stream for the heads up about the show and to vitaminwater for allowing me cover it.
