EVERETT -- A 3-year-old girl suffered minor injuries after she fell from a second-floor window Saturday morning.

Firefighters from Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to a call to the 1200 block of 113th St. SW where the girl fell more than 10 feet from an apartment window onto asphalt.

The girl was transported to Harborview Medical Center as a precaution, spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.

There was a screen on the window, but it appears it didn't hold the girl's weight when she pushed it, Hynes said.

She recommends keeping furniture that children can climb on away from windows and maintain adult supervision. She also recommends installing window guards.
