WALLULA -- The body of a 14-year-old boy who was lost in the Snake River near Burbank was recovered a week later downstream in the Columbia River near Wallula.

The Walla Walla sheriff's office says the body of Timmy Bowden was spotted by a boater Saturday during a large search involving volunteers from the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla, officers from several counties and a special search team from Idaho.

The Finley boy drowned June 24 when a fishing boat sank. Four other people in the boat made it back to shore.

KVEW reports his body was found at Crescent Island on the Columbia at Wallula.
