Published:
PORT ANGELES -- Police in Port Angeles say they've arrested a burglary suspect they've been seeking for more than a week. They found him hiding inside a couch.
Deputy Chief Brian Smith told the Peninsula Daily News that a tip led officers to a Port Angeles home where Clifford Hanning, 25, was found hiding in a storage compartment of a couch, underneath the cushions.
Smith said a neighbor may have mistakenly let the man know that police were outside the house Monday. The deputy chief said there's no indication the home's occupant knowingly hid the man.
Hanning was arrested for investigation of residential burglary and malicious mischief in a June 24 break-in at a different Port Angeles house.
