Camano: Patriotic walk, bake sale set
The Utsalady Ladies Aid Society plans a bake sale at 10 a.m. and a Patriotic Walk at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ladies Aid building, 78 Utsalady Road.
Stanwood: Parade to honor volunteers
The Stanwood-Camano Rotary Club has scheduled its 2012 Summer Parade for 11 a.m. Aug. 4 and has put out the call to business owners, clubs, teams and organization members who want to participate.
The parade, which begins at the train station and ends at Josephine Sunset Home, is to be a celebration of the community's volunteers.
Deadline for entries is July 20.

Whidbey: Landing board needs members
The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking three applicants to serve on the Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve Trust Board. Two of the terms expire Oct. 1, 2015. The third term expires Oct. 1, 2016.
The Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve Trust Board has nine volunteer members who manage the reserve. Trust Board members also perform duties as assigned by the National Park Service.
Interested individuals should provide a letter of interest and statement of qualifications by mail, email or FAX to: Island County Board of Commissioners, Attn: Pam Dill, Re: Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve Trust Board Vacancy, P.O. The Sky Valley Community Schools is looking for instructors for evening classes, geared towards people who want to learn about art, hobbies, a language or other topics.
The school is looking for people with a special interest or a skill that can be enjoyed with others. Candidates do not need to be certified or have experience.
Classes start in October, but people need to submit an application Thursday. People can prepare the details of their classes after the deadline.
