Anacortes man dies in accident north of Oak Harbor

Troopers late Thursday night were on the scene of a fatal car accident on Highway 20 on Whidbey Island.
The wreck happened about 8:06 p.m., near where the highway crosses N. Jones Road, north of Oak Harbor.
Killed was an Anacortes man, 24, who drifted over the center line, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol.
His car struck a sport utility vehicle driven by a Woodinville man, 74. The man and his wife both were hospitalized for their injuries, which weren't believed to be life-threatening.
Traffic was being detoured around the accident scene on local roads.
Additional details weren't available as of Thursday evening.
