ARLINGTON -- The investigation into the suspicious death of an Arlington man last week is expected to take some time.

Martin Pickett, 48, was found dead about 5:30 a.m. June 30 in the 16800 block of Smokey Point Boulevard.

His death remains under investigation by Arlington police and the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police believe that Pickett, who often was homeless, was involved in some sort of struggle with another transient, Nial G. Harris, 52, shortly before he died.

Police since have spoken with Harris, Arlington city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said. No arrests had been made as of Friday.

Detectives also interviewed witnesses and collected evidence, Banfield said.

They now are awaiting the results of the medical examiner's investigation, including a toxicology report, that could shed light on the circumstances surrounding Pickett's death.
