Regarding the Everett Naval Festival on June 30: Hats off to the most enlightening festival I have we have seen for a long time. My friend Beverlee and I were greeted at the entrance of the Naval station by the most polite military personnel.
It was the most organized, patriotic, enjoyable, affair put on by the Navy since the 9/11 catastrophe in the United States.
The organized tours on the ships and Coast Guard Cutter were mind-boggling as to what our men and women go through to maintain our safety. Needless to say, all of the free gifts handed out and the wonderful Navy and Army bands, Bluegrass music band were greatly enjoyed. Food was great too.
My friend and I left just as the sky opened up and poured down rain for the rest of the day, leaving us with a renewed feeling of pride with our country. Thank you U.S. Navy for a wonderful day.
Mrs. Donna C. Draper
