Parker and Catchings named Players of the Month for July

Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks and Tina Charles of the Connecticut Sun were named the Western Conference and Eastern Conference Players of the Month respectively on Tuesday.

Both players were also named the WNBA's Players of the Week on Monday.

It continues a season of domination for both players. Parker has won every Western Conference Player of the Month award this season and Charles has won two of three Eastern Conference Players of the Month awards, Chicago's Sylvia Fowles won the other.

Charles has led the Sun to the best record in the Eastern Conference, while Parker has the Sparks in third place in the West, right on the heels of the San Antonio Silver Stars and the Minnesota Lynx.

Parker's teammate in Los Angeles, No. 1 overall draft pick Nneka Ogwumike was also named the league's Rookie of the Month for July.
