Foster Farms near Arlington is one of the stops on the Red Rooster Route.

Eat fresh: Get a taste of farm life, literally, on the Red Rooster Route Days Road Rally. The weekend-long celebration of locally grown food is Saturday and Sunday and offers families the chance to pick fresh berries, feed some farm goats and take a wagon ride, all while absorbing the county's rich agricultural past and its modern-day importance. Read all about it here. Kla Ha Ya: Snohomish's community celebration, Kla Ha Ya Days, continues through Sunday. You'll find a frog jumping contest, food, carnival and a lot more. Read more in our story here. Art: Everett's outdoor ArtWalk is Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The Art Walk's outdoor portion is at 2914 Wetmore Ave. There will be an ice cream vendor and music. Get more information here. Eat! The Bite of Seattle is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Seattle Center. There will be six outdoor entertainment stages and comedy club for ages 21 and older. There will, of course, be cooking demonstrations; more than 50 restaurant booths and more than 30 food product companies. Read more here. Breathe deep: If you're up for a bit of a drive, the Sequim Lavender Festival runs through Sunday. Tour various farms and enjoy a street fair. Find more details here. Delicious fun: The Loganberry Festival is Saturday and Sunday on Whidbey Island. You'll find hayrides, pie-eating contests and other family entertainment, galleries, wine and beer tasting, a children's play area with face painting. And it's free. Learn more here. Visit Darrington: There are two fun options in Darrington. First, take in some bluegrass at the Darrington Bluegrass Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Learn more here. Then, you can take in some cool displays of rocks and gems at a show on Saturday and Sunday. Find more info on that here. Geocaching: What will you find at Money Creek? Probably not money, but you may turn up some prizes, so pack up the family and head for the mountains for a guided geocaching tour Saturday night. The Snoqualmie Ranger District offers an introduction to geocaching using navigational techniques, including some ranger lore about the forests ecosystem beginning at 7 p.m. at Money Creek Campground. Read more in our story here. Rock: The 5th Avenue Theatre is touting its production of "Rent" as a "brand new season of love," electrifying, bold and innovative. "Rent," a youth anthem, is set in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and tells the story of struggling artists and musicians who live life, every moment, to the fullest against a backdrop of poverty and AIDS. The show opens with a preview Saturday. Read more about it here. Plan ahead: See what else is coming up in Splash, our summer guide.
