Associated Press
TACOMA -- Children of some soldiers at Joint Base Lewis-McChord were allowed to put their hands on a machine gun and other military equipment Thursday at the Kids Boot Camp.
They also ran an obstacle course, ate MREs and tried following marching commands.
The News Tribune reported that the parents are soldiers in the 593rd Sustainment Brigade. The boot camp is an annual event to give children a taste of military work.
