PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police say U.S. marshals have made an arrest in Seattle in the murder of a woman found dead in southeast Portland.
Police found a woman dead in an apartment on July 10. The Oregon state medical examiner determined that the woman in her 30s was a homicide victim. Detectives are working to confirm her identity.
Sgt. Pete Simpson said detectives learned that the dead woman and the suspect knew each other and that her car and dog were missing. Simpson said the man arrested Thursday had the victim's dog with him. The animal is described as a wolf-German Shepherd mix.
The Oregonian said 39-year-old Mark Daniel Beebout was arrested on a murder warrant issued by a Multnomah County judge.
The victim's red Subaru Legacy is still missing.
