WARM BEACH -- The Free Methodist Church had an idea in 1967 that resulted in a senior retirement complex that thrives today with hundreds of residents. Warm Beach Senior Community is celebrating its 45th anniversary.

The community includes mobile homes, retirement apartments, a skilled nursing and therapy center and an assisted-living home.

Alisa Sands, community relations officer, said people who live at Warm Beach attribute the success and warmth of their community to their faith in God.

The community plans to celebrate its 45-year history from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 20420 Marine Drive. The party is for residents, family members and friends, waiting list members, past and present board members and friends from the local community. For more information, call 360-652-4593.
