EVERETT -- Two suspected burglars were hospitalized Monday after they fell down a ravine while running from police.

The burglary was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Mukilteo Boulevard, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said.

Officers found two suspects at the scene. The men ran, and police gave chase.

The men apparently then jumped into an overgrown area and fell about 75 feet down a ravine, Dalberg said.

A police dog located them. Police officers and firefighters worked together to get them out, Dalberg said.

Their injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.

Once released from the hospital, the men were expected to be booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of residential burglary.

Police also recovered property believed to be stolen from the home, Dalberg said.
